Some original older cartoons sometimes used the travelling saleswoman, who would demonstrate how to use Acme brushes. 
This was, at least in my imagination, a take off from the Fuller Brush salesman. . 
Thus, I thought a walk down memory lane would take us today to the fuller brush company, and it's current products.

Any spanking with a hairbrush, by a determined woman, can be extremely effective. Lynn's use of our small hairbrush recently was very effective.

Sara uses a small hairbrush from a firm called Kent.
She has had it for years and let me tell you that small brush, which looks very much like the one pictured is also made of beechwood, can and does leave a nasty reminder on my bottom.
My Wife's Nasty NEW TOY:
Pampered Chef is a newer version of Fuller Brush. BTW if anyone knows where I can get a fuller brush SPIRAL-(brush part has a small twist) plastic hairbrush please advise. NOT for spanking, great for hair, mine is OLD.
Anyway, my wife purchased a couple of wooden spoons from Pampered Chef and the larger is quite a formidable weapon. Not for major punishment, but it sits innocently in the drawer until needed for 50 quick swats in the kitchen. Its sting is VERY surprising and quickly creates order in the universe, our tiny corner at least.

Hank: wood hurts. Any hairbrush used by a determined woman will be effective.
Gary: yes, fifty spanks with a wooden spoon would certainly do the trick.

Anyone still have one of the old ivory hairbrushes that were once found on most American women's night tables or bureaus? They haven't been made in decades, because of the Endangered Species Act, but can still be found in homes, antique shops and estate sales. They really sting!
Penny: Have to agree that although they were probably excellent, the endangered species act should be first. However, with ingenuity, so many other implements are available nowadays.

Most of those "ivory" hairbrushes were of a material called celluloid (sp?) They look like ivory and make for a very effective spanking. We have five of them.
And forget the endangerd species thing, ivory is too expensive to make hairbrushes out of for the general public.
I have an ivory backed hairbrush with etched EER on it's surface. These are the initials of my paternal great grand mother. I often wonder if it has been used as it is used now!
